Hook-and-Loop or Laces? Choosing Your Cleto Reyes Closure

Black and gold metallic boxing gloves

Because Cleto Reyes gloves have a compact, close fit, the closure you choose has a big effect on how they feel around the wrist.

Lace-up

  • Locks the glove to your wrist for a firm, fight-style feel.
  • Best for sparring and boxers who train with a coach.
  • Needs a partner to tie; tape the laces for sparring.

Hook-and-loop

  • On and off in seconds, ideal for classes and solo bag rounds.
  • Easy to adjust between rounds as your hands warm up.
  • Slightly less custom wrist fit than laces.

Our tip

If these will be your only gloves and you train alone, choose hook-and-loop. If you already own training gloves and want a sparring or fight-style pair, choose lace-up.

Check the fit

Try them with wraps on. Your fist should close fully and your knuckles should sit centered in the padding.
